Roots are one of the most troublesome and destructive problems faced by pipeline maintenance personnel according to a report published by the Environmental Protection Agency in 1977. We can control root intrusion in sewer lines with periodic applications of specially formulated products that kill roots and inhibit regrowth.
Our powerful root control products contain four chemicals. An herbicide kills the existing root mass and roots near the sewer pipe, and a root inhibitor slows root growth. A surfactant cleans the grease and slim from the roots so that the other chemicals can better penetrate the root cells. Finally, a foaming agent helps carry the other chemicals to the root surfaces.
