Crown Spraying

Sprayed on the surfaces of concrete collection systems pipelines, Thioguard^® stops corrosion by neutralizing sulfuric acid on the pipe surface. Corrosion increases rapidly below pH 4, and at pH 2, cast concrete corrodes at about ¼ inch per year. In gravity mains Thioguard^® is pumped using a modified jetter truck, hose reel, and a floating nozzle.

According to Engineering News Record, from 1975 to the present, the unit cost of wastewater construction has increased by over 250 percent. During this same period, federal funding has nearly evaporated. As a result, it now costs cities about ten times as much to construct new sewers.
